The impact of entrepreneurship and creativity on the economic growth of the knowledge-based companies

Abstract. This study aimed to examine the impact of entrepreneurship and creativity on the economic growth of knowledge-based companies in Indonesia. The present study utilized a mixed (quantitative and qualitative) approach wherein quantitative data were collected from 147 companies via a questionnaire and analyzed through correlation and regression analyses. In the qualitative period, 25 entrepreneurs and managers were semi-structured interviewed to maximize our comprehension of influence mechanisms. The research results on clear grounds showed that the entrepreneurship variable and creativity variables have a strong and positive relationship with the economic growth indicators of the companies. Regression outcomes showed that the two factors together can potentially explain more than 50% of growth variance. Additionally, the qualitative results verified that supportive working environment and creative leadership have an important mediating function in the conversion of individual creativity to economic results. In short, it can be stated that strengthening at the same time the entrepreneurship and creativity culture within Indonesian knowledge-based firms is vital for pursuing faster economic growth and sustainable development in Indonesia.
