Abstract. In the article the growth of role of information and knowledge in post-industrial society is grounded. The leading role of education in forming of innovative pattern of economic growth is determined. Expedience of transition of the system of education from the mode of survival to the mode of development on the basis of distribution of conception of continuous education is shown.
