Background, nature and economic importance of land transformation in modern conditions

Abstract. Transformation of land is considered as a conscious management action for changing in the use of land. The paper considers the contradiction between the need to increase plowing up and the need to withdraw from circulation degraded and unproductive agricultural land. Agrilandscape approach which involves making a decision on the transformation of land jointly with landowner, land user and local community is defined as a promising direction of solving the problems of irrational land use.
