Social package: the essence and place in distribution relations

Abstract. Introduction: Despite the increasing of interest of scientists to the phenomenon of the social package, its nature, essence and place in distribution relations remain not enough studied. Purpose: research of the nature and essence of category «social package» and the practice of benefits providing to employees at Ukrainian companies. Methods: The study of the practice of benefits providing at Ukrainian companies was done using the survey. Results: The essence of category «social package» and the reasons of giving employers to employees the benefits are studied. The dialectics of social and economic nature of the benefits are substantiated. Also unreasonableness of inclusion some options into the social package is justified. The study of practice of benefits providing to employees at Ukrainian companies revealed that only 63% of companies provide benefits to employees. The study also revealed that needs of the employees are not always considered during the development of the social packages. This situation is not good for the performance and motivation of employees. Conclusion: The important direction of transformation of the motivation of employees at Ukrainian companies is increasing of quantity of benefits in the compensation packages. It is necessary to take into account the interests and needs of employees during the development of the social packages.
