Exhibition activity in Ukraine: current state, problems of development and ways of their solving

Abstract. The value of exhibitions as one of the sectors of the modern economy is growing. However, the current state of exhibition business in Ukraine is characterized by a list of unsolved problems: imperfection of legal and normative base, competition, general lack of exhibition space etc.

Results. The authors analyzed the main factors that hinder development of the exhibition sector and suggested ways to improve the image of the Ukrainian exhibition organizers in the international market. It was found that development of exhibitions in Ukraine in dynamics of the last 2 years is characterized by worsening of key indicators. Exhibitions develop irregularly across Ukraine. The most active work on the organization of exhibitions and trade fairs inherent a capital of Ukraine and other major cities.

Conclusion. A strategy of exhibitions and a program to improve the mechanism of this economic activity regulation are offered for the effective development of the exhibitions and trade fairs organizing national market. To achieve recognition of Ukrainian exhibitions abroad, the quality of exhibition services and exhibition infrastructure improvement are offered.
