The role of local self-government in democratic law-abiding nations

Abstract. This article offers deep analysis of current models of local self-government in Poland, which rely heavily on the experience of Western European nations, and argues that future development in democratic law-abiding states is associated with increased local self-government, which must be handed a number of government powers and instruments of influence.
